Booth Display

My booth display incorporates reclaimed wood, weathered furnishings, and objects that carry the marks of age and use. Their worn surfaces and accumulated patina complement the rich textures, varied forms, and unique character of my wood-fired ceramics. Together, they reflect an appreciation for the beauty of imperfection, the passage of time, and the wabi-sabi aesthetic.

I want the display to feel welcoming and approachable, giving visitors a chance to appreciate the ceramics in a setting that complements their character. Rather than simply looking at the work, I encourage people to pick up pieces, feel their surfaces, and experience their weight, balance, and form.

These photographs document my display at Sacramento Open Studios in September 2026. While this installation took advantage of a larger outdoor space, the individual display elements are modular and can be arranged in different configurations to suit smaller indoor markets and exhibition spaces. The goal is to maintain the same inviting atmosphere and visual character while adapting to the needs of each event.
